I hope your new term is going well! Your NNLSO Board has been busy this season as we continue to develop programming for you, our members, and as we work to modernize. If you have ideas or suggestions on how we can better serve you, we want to hear from you.
Please plan to join us in New Orleans at the AACRAO Annual Meeting (April 5-8, 2020) for the NNLSO 40th Anniversary. New Orleans is the birthplace of NNLSO, so what a wonderful place to commemorate our birthday. We have great programming planned for you. Information about registering for the AACRAO conference is included later in this newsletter.
Did you read the NNLSO Guide article on Orientation that was included in the last newsletter? It is a wonderful article written by Amy Arntsen, Registrar at the University of Wisconsin Law School. If you haven’t read it, please do. We so appreciate Amy’s work on the article, and are excited about upcoming articles that will be part of the Guide. Please let Theresa Gallo, board member, know if you are interested in writing an article for the Guide.
In December we opened the nominations for the Vanguard Prize. The deadline to submit nominations is January 20. Please consider making a nomination.
NNLSO is preparing to launch the much-anticipated Member Discussion Board. Please watch for an email invitation and plan to become a participant! We have included in this newsletter, a link to a YouTube tutorial with you on how to use the discussion board (for those of us, like me, who are technology challenged ; ) Please check your “clutter” and/or “junk” folders to see if NNLSO correspondence may be landing there, so that you don’t miss our announcements. We hope this new tool will prove to be a great advancement for our organization.
One last thing: this year, we are trying something new with our communications. We will not be publishing a newsletter with as many articles, but will switch gears a bit and will communicate using smaller pieces. We want to provide you with the same types of information, but in smaller doses. We hope you will like the new communication style. As we go down this road, please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have ideas or concerns.
Happy New Year!
