2015 Vanguard Prize Recipient: Jodie Panariello Needham

The Vanguard Prize recognizes members with experience who have made exceptional contributions to student services. NNLSO members nominate their colleagues for this award. The Prize carries a $500 award to the recipient’s school to use to support student services in any way the school deems appropriate.

The recipient of the 2015 Vanguard Prize is Jodie Panariello Needham, Assistant Dean for Academic Services at the John Marshall needham-jodieLaw School in Chicago. Jodie’s infectious smile and brimming-over enthusiasm have been a central aspect of all NNLSO meetings for years. Quoting from the letter of nomination: “Jodie is knowledgeable, caring, and energetic about her work. She demonstrates a dedication to her institution and a desire to provide the best possible services to her constituents.” JMSL Dean John E. Corkery says that Jodie “has served the law school for 27 years. In that time, she has left an indelible mark on our school, our culture, and most importantly on our students. Her leadership, commitment to student service and innovative, solution-oriented approach to her work make her an invaluable asset to my management team.” JMLS Associate Dean of Student Affairs William B. Powers adds, “Students know that they will find a compassionate and sympathetic ear when they stop by Jodie’s office….Jodie is a pleasure to work with – her high energy, enthusiasm, knowledge and desire to make JMLS the best school it can be is refreshing and contagious!”

The Vanguard Prize was presented to Jodie Needham at the NNLSO Annual Business Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona on March 22, 2016.
