The National Network of Law School Officers (NNLSO) is pleased to recognize Eddie Upton as the recipient for the 2019 Vanguard Prize. Eddie is the Registrar of the University of Mississippi School of Law.
Eddie Upton has served as registrar at the University of Mississippi School of Law since 2011, after having worked in higher education since 2002, with ten of those years served in the Information Technology Department at Ole Miss. Eddie is creative in finding solutions to problems at the law school and improves the experience of students, staff and faculty. He has a good understanding of technology and uses it to create solutions that affect the law school community. He forges relationships with students, alumni and the Ole Miss academic and administrative communities, which result in improvements to processes and a positive experience for those he serves. Eddie’s nomination stated that he surpasses the award criteria of innovative service, outstanding leadership and effective administration. NNLSO is honored to recognize Eddie for his outstanding service to the Ole Miss law school community.
The Vanguard Prize recognizes an individual for outstanding professional achievement in support of student services. Nominations are solicited from law schools across the nation in search of a member who is transforming academic services through innovative service, outstanding leadership, and effective administration. The NNLSO board choses the winner and the prize carries an award of $500 earmarked for professional development for the recipient’s office.
